I'm not sure which images the Currier transcription was based on, I believe on an assortment of pre-Xerox copies. The FSG transcription was based on Friedman's photocopies of the VMs, possibly better than the Yale copyflow. Takeshi's transcription was indeed based on the copyflow. Gabriel and Rene were doing the EVMT transcription on the basis of second-generation Xeroxes of Petersen's hand copy. They never have in fact released any EVMT work. The sids, of course, are vastly superior to anything that went before.
