Re: VMs: RE: Colour analysis of language pages??

Hi everyone,

At 14:59 04/04/2005 -0500, Ben Preece wrote:
At the bottom of that same page [f17v], the "ch" in the word "chor" might have

important to maintain the distinction. This might be one little shred
of evidence against hoax theories, where errors like that would
presumably be irrelevant.

It might equally be a smudged sh, miscorrected by a later owner trying to tidy up an over-faint loop. Again, multi-spectral scans might help us work out who did what to which page. :-o

BTW, a subtle feature on the preceding page (ie f17r, the first page of Quire 3) is that there's a faint flower-like drawing in the very top-right corner, just below/left of the "17" foliation mark. FWIW, this is most visible in the blue channel, so would probably show up well in a UV scan.

What I find particularly interesting about that is that there is a tiny bit of blue paint on this flower / seed-pod, which looks to have been coloured in the original (ie not added by the heavy painter).

Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....
