Yes. The word is derived from Sanskrit, hence a masculine
(ending in -a) and a feminine form (in -i).

Reduplication, however, is a feature of Austronesian
languages (also known as Malayo-Polynesian). Some words
occur only reduplicated, e.g. sayur-sayuran "vegetables".
