The Society for the History of Alchemy and Chemistry

The Society for the History of Alchemy and Chemistry is holding a meeting entitled John Dee and Alchemy on Saturday 28 May 2005 at 30 Russell Square, London beginning at 10.45am. This building was formerly the home of the Royal Institute of Chemistry and now houses the English Department of Birkbeck College. The meeting will close at 17.00.

The meeting is open to all at a fee of £10.00 (including tea and coffee). Lunch will not be provided. However attendees are welcome to bring their own sandwiches (a lunch room will be available) and directions to nearby cafes will be given on the day.

SHAC?s Autumn 2005 meeting is entitled ?The History of Forensic Chemistry? and will be held jointly with the Royal Society of Chemistry Historical Group and the Royal Institution at The Royal Institution, 21 Albemarle St., London, on Wednesday 26 October 2005 at 2.45pm. The keynote speaker will be Prof. John Emsley of the Department of Chemistry, Cambridge University. Further details will be available soon from this website.
