VMs: alchemical herbals continued

Hi all

Here are for those interested in herbals, would they be alchemical, some additional comments of mine, since I received Vera Segre Rutz? book upon Il giardino magico di alchimisti (2000).

My first observation is that this is a very much scholarly built work, but it doesn?t quote Toresellla(1996).

However I?d like to add the author knows VMS since she mentions Brumbaugh for his article in the Yale University Libary Gazette (1975).

Among ancient scientists Mattioli is too in her agenda.

Now she studies in Italian an alchemical herbal in Pavia University (Italy) which Aldrovandi entitled Piante Degli Alchimisti (Plants of alchemists).

She dates her manuscript as having being originally written in the XIVth century. The originator seems to be unknown.

Here are at the end the titles of some VMS like pictures (IMHO)

Herba Torogas (Scrofularia nodosa L.)

Herba Canalaritas Romana (Eupatorium cannabinum)

Amorsu Serpentis (Aquilegia vulgaris L.)

Herba Lucea et de Novem Una (Rhamnus saxalitis Jacq.)

Herba Ditimo Biancho (Dictamnus albus L.)

Herba Foleas (Achillea millefolium L.)

Herba Luza Mandragora (Mandragora officinarum L.)

Herba Illiloris (Helleborus Niger L.)

Herba Bazea Minor et de Novem Una (Daucus carota L.)

Herba Folio (Equisetum arvense L.)

Herba Mula Campana (Inula helenium L.)

Herba Zinziana (Gentiana lutea L.)

Herba Ystatoris (Isatis tinctoria L.)

Herba Sigillo de Sancta Maria (Polygonatum officinale Desf.)

Herba Rapillis (Raphanus raphanistrum L.)
