Might be that someone else mentionned this, but just in case:
This scattered leaves project at the University of Saskatchewan seems interesting. The pictures shows some plants drawn not unlike that of the VMS (like that on the golden ratio page)

The collection is taken from many books dating from 1100 to 1600 and have been cut and packaged bu this Ege felow and 'sold separatly'. The project's goal is to bring them back...
