Re: The medieval 7-sided dice and the Voynich Manuscript Experiment

Hi Stellar... That cube is certainly unusual, and also the way it is drawn in perspective. There have been a few suggestions as to why it is there... I can't off the top of my head remember any of them! As for your idea that the text could have been generated in some random way like this, I could se...

Re: Another one Middle Ages history hypothesis

Hi Stellar: I think it is great that you stay introspective, allowing you to correct errors. The only way to improve on any idea.

Forged miniatures, sold by WMV?

To make it clear, I'm not suggesting that if these are forgeries, that Wilfrid made these, or had them made. But from what I have learned about forgeries, I do highly suspect the miniatures in this blog post are forgeries: Leaves from a Book of Hours Repurposed as an Armorial As you can see from the...

List of 541 Books on Cryptography

Klaus Schmeh has written a blog post about by Nils Kopal and Tobias Schrödel's Crypto Book list: http://scienceblogs.de/klausis-krypto-kolumne/2020/06/29/nils-and-tobiass-crypto-books-page Thank you, Klaus, I was unaware of this resource. And here is a direct link to their list: https://cryptobooks....

Re: A New Voynich Translation Claim

I've had a chance to look over this proposal, and have come to the opinion that it cannot be correct. I posted my comment at Klaus's site: http://scienceblogs.de/klausis-krypto-kolumne/2020/06/17/yet-another-voynich-manuscript-solution/#comment-1685988 But I copy it below, also: I do not speak Germa...

A New Voynich Translation Claim

My friend Klaus Schmeh has a new blog post about a translation claim by one Rainer Hannig: http://scienceblogs.de/klausis-krypto-kolumne/2020/06/17/yet-another-voynich-manuscript-solution/ The work is in German, so I cannot read it. But I've put parts of it through Google Translate to get an idea, a...

Re: Another one Middle Ages history hypothesis

Hi Xchanger: You have many ideas here, and I admit I had trouble following all of them. I suppose you are not finished, and that when you post some conclusions, I will have a better idea as to what the "unifying theory" is, and how it has led you to some ideas on decryption. I hope you get around to...

Re: Importance of Precision

Precision is the key, relatively speaking. C-14 tests are not that accurate, as seen by the data. Yet I believe it has been said that we are lucky to be where we are in the chronology because precision is worse elsewhere. And there is a certain commonality to the data results. What do you mean by "...
