A place to discuss anything Voynich, or not. I'd imagine "politics and religion" are problem good topics to be avoided, just to keep it civil!

Well, we are now in the January full lockdown again as was expected from last May, which means there is minimal traffic/flight/trains. A good time to listen to the night sky.
Last few days have been as quiet as a church mouse walking on snow, tonight some faint non background sonds. Have to see what tomorrow brings.

Since the new lockdown there is much less traffic. The first night was exceptionally quiet like a church mouse walking on snow, since then some background noise but no dissernable quality to it. Using live flight radar data and motorway cameras, what would normally be the biggest sources of background noise can be checked in real time. The night skys are empty apart from the odd cargo plane and motorway is pretty desolate. Obviously since unabale to go out cannot check night time local roads but assumed they must be pretty desrted as no one wants to chance a fine by being the only one out at night wthout good cause. So far nothing unsual to report but more background sound than expected and certainly more than !st lockdown.

Nothing at all out of the ordinary so far, but this current lockdown gives another oportunity to seperate sounds from usual back ground noise.
The first night when it was silent, one would thnk no manmade clamor would be wonderful and serene. It didnt feel that way though, it was so empty of sound, like there was literally no other human in the world, and that felt disturbing and abandoned rather than peaceful. I don't think anyone would want to be the last person on Earth, even it it was an Eden.
