D'Imperio points out that the VMs. itself has never been subjected to a
large number of standard investigative procedures, but carrying out most
of these would presumably involve having appropriate academic credentials,
a large grant, and a certain amount of clout, etc.  I assume her
observations on what hasn't been done are still true.
