Here is a fascinating mystery.... what are the markings on this stone? Is it a language, code, or just some sort of natural markings? The finder of it, Kevin Callaghan, tells me that the markings have not been enhanced... they were darker like this when he found it, on the shore of Lake Huron in 2006.

I did some research and the markings on the stone somewhat match the Proto-Algonquian language.
