Introduction

Hello to all,

as I'm new to the list, I thought it might be a good idea to introduce
myself! My name is Bernd Neuner, and my only qualification is a morbid
fascination with things that don't seem to make sense to anybody :-)

Though I spent most of my university days on computer science, I also
took linguistics as subsidiary subject - and discovered my interest in
foreign languages and scripts - though I would consider myself neither
a linguist nor a cryptologist.

Basically, my "cryptology track record" consists of two items so far:
a Norwegian rune poem, probably written in the 13th century, and a strange
grimoire called "Magia Ordinis", allegedly written by a prior called
Johannes Kornritter (the document appeared to be Arabic on first sight,
but it soon turned out that the author had used Arabic script to conceal the
fact that the language used actually was Latin ...).
Anyway, I am happy to be part of this list, and I am really impressed by the
knowledge of the people that have contributed to the discussion so far.

Currently, I'm quite busy with studying the essential research that has been
done on the VMS so far - which also means that I will keep my mouth shut
until I can contribute something useful!

Cheers,

Bernd
