VMs: Re: New mailing list address -- possibly short-term
From: Jim Gillogly <jim@xxxxxxx>
Details:
The American Cryptogram Association has been kind enough to allow us to
site the Voynich Ms. mailing list at their (virtual) host cryptogram.org.
You can send mail for the list to voynich@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and requests
for addition or deletion to voynich-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (or to
jim@xxxxxxx
as usual, if you prefer).
Many thanks for managing this change so smoothly, Jim.
I think it is important that a long term solution should maintain
the quality of the list. At present, contributions are of a high
standard; generally on topic and well thought out. I think this is
because of the listserv format and the fact that our existence is
publicised on a few serious web sites which frankly deter people
with nothing to contribute. Egroups and public noticeboards attract
far more cranks and spammers than a mailing list, and the advertising
is getting increasingly intrusive. Whatever we do, archiving will be
the big problem, and I am afraid I have no answer to this.
