VMs: Re: Virus mail
Doesn't worry me. When I access my mail
from my Windows partition I use Mailwasher,
which I discovered I forgot how.
It happened when I found something like 2M
of junk mail in an e-mail account I had
not looked at for almost a year. Well,
I didn't know it was 2M and 90% junk, only
that I had hundreds of messages. And my
browser barfed after 20 minutes of downloading
mostly junk, and next time I fired it up
again and looked at mailbox, none had been
deleted!
I had to find a way. So I stumbled across that
Mailwasher. It had a look at my mailbox
and listed everything in there, marking
some in red as "Virus", "Trojan", most
as "Possible Spam". I only had to check
the "delete" box next to each to get rid
of it all.
I was left with perhaps 20 messages to
download.
It's freeware, but the author encourages
you to register -- $20. I thought it was
pretty expensive. I did a search on Tucows
for similar software, downloaded quite a
few, tested them. None was as convenient
as Mailwasher.
