VMs: Caramuel (2)
Some scholars insist that Caramuel's 'Grammatica Audax' was a definite
source for John Wilkins' Essay towards a Real Character and Philosophical
Language (1668).
I simply find fascinating the fact that Caramuel maintained correspondence
with J. Marcus Marci and with Kircher, and that he lived in Prague at a time
when the VMS was probably still there. Did he manage to see it, or at least
learn of its existence, considering his particular linguistic and Lullian
skills and inclinations?
Joannes Marcus Marci and Caramuel were close friends and were both
especially honored by Ferdinand III for their brave conduct during the siege
of Prague by the Swedes in 1654.
