VMs: Re: Voynich Biography

There really isn't much if anything known before he went to college. Dr. Gottlieb said that he was born in Kaunas, Lithuania, and that he probably attended the Gymnasium there for his secondary education. From E. Millicent Sowerby we also learn that his parents were of Polish nobility. Emily states that he attended both the Warsaw and Moscow universities, though I read somewhere else that he attended Cracow university, so right away we may have conflicting information. We know nothing about who his parents were or what type of business they were involved in, nor do we know how many siblings Wilfrid might have had. There is virtually no information from the time he was born up to when he attended college.

Dear Dana,

Is there any info on his early years in Poland/Russia
in the book?

Best regards,
