VMs: Re: Voynich in Richmond

Somebody noted a couple of months ago that Wilfrid Voynich once lived
at Richmond, Surrey. I think it is of no great importance, but I have
checked this matter for the record since I live nearby.

Kelly's Directory of Richmond, Twickenham and Teddington shows that
Wilfrid Voynich lived at 88 Queen's Road, Richmond in the years 1913,
1914, 1915 and 1916.

It was interesting to note the presence of Ethel Lillian Voynich on
the Burgess Rolls (i.e. electoral register) of Richmond, Surrey for
1914-15, the address also being 88 Queen's Road. She was cunningly
exploiting a loophole in the property franchise some years before
universal suffrage for men and women was introduced in 1918.
