VMs: Starry Night & Gregorian Calendar
Robert: FYI: Starry Night apparently *does* take the Gregorian
Calendar into consideration when choosing dates - but in a general
sense. Dates before 10/15/1582 are in the old Julian Calendar and
afterwards are Gregorian. October 5-14 1582 do not exist in Starry
Night.
The problem is that different countries adopted the Gregorian calendar
over time - and differently (some opting to adopt it gradually, vs
overnight).
For instance, here are some adoption years:
England - 1752
Germany - 1776
Sweden - 1844
Japan - 1873
Egypt - 1875
Albania, Bulgaria, China, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and
Turkey - between 1912-1917
etc.
So you need to be careful comparing suspected dates on Voynich to Starry
Night. After October 5 1582 you need to allow for 10 - 12 days of
leeway in accuracy depending upon the country you suspect the Voynich
was adopted in.
Just a heads up while you are perusing the SN database for links.
