Actually, at one time I thought the VMs was
written by him. But really, statistically it
makes sense that the author is not known to
posterity at all.
I really think that the VMs was written by someone
who had sound basic knowledge in various fields
of science, but had a 'vision' of his own.
And it was not shared with anyone else (of
significance).
The idea to start the Zodiac with Pisces is
one indication. The idea to use an invented
alphabet is another. It might mean that he had
actually also invented a whole language, perhaps
starting with a basic vocabulary and making up
new words as he went along.
In this scenario, it would be possible that
the text is more or less meaningful, but not
generated in a trance (so no glossolalia) but
as a concentrated effort (of a perhaps confused
mind).
D'Imperio writes about such a person - I can never
remember his name. He made very intricate drawings
of maps of the (known) world.
There may have been more people like him.
Cheers, Rene
