But surely we cannot look for this until we can read the text? If a
methodical, reasonable way of changing VMS text into a consistent but
nonsensical plaintext were found, would it prove a hoax? I think it would
be very easy to render VMS text as strings of meaningless words in almost
any language. In the same way, you could change the text of anything you
wanted, say, for example, the bible, into anything you wanted (as long as
meaninglessness was required). It proves nothing.
