"a character in a word-final position.."
Interestingly, the Voynich "4" almost exclusively appears at the start of
words. Could this be a clue that while written left to right the
characters are in fact in reverse order? Could the Voy "y" be a rounded
version of this 4?
Now you're coupling my argument that the
"4" is graphically a part of the gallows characters. This argument
basically states that the VMS script was "visually" constructed, not randomly
constructed, and certainly not an unknown language or alphabet. Visual
construction of similars indicates a desire to obfuscate.
More correct here is that "4o" almost
exclusively appears at the start of words, since "4" alonge has a more
flexible useage. There are also "4c" groups to contend with, as well as
the "4o" with "shorthand notae" attached. The "4o" combination is one of
my three biggest problems, the second being the "am" problem.
