>I don't recall anyone's using the word "gravida" (for "nymph")
"Gravida" means "pregnant". We've discussed this before here.
The nymphs are not pregnant, they are just how attractive
women were depicted in the 14th century: small, high breasts,
and a rounded belly. If they were pregnant their breasts would
be much bigger. As I wrote several years ago here: if the
Voynich manuscript was Playboy, would-be decipherers would
think the playmates were lactating.
I tried that URL with Netscape 3.01 (safe) and after waiting
for 105k to download, was rewarded with a blank screen.
I tried with Opera 5, and was rewarded with being redirected
to another page. So I gave up.
