VMs: French Review -- 1912

A reprint of "The Cipher Of Roger Bacon" by William Romaine Newbold, edited 
by Roland Grubb Kent (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1928) is available, 
for those who may be interested, through the Sacred Science Library 
(www.sacredscience.com). The following statement places the Voynich 
manuscript in France sometime in 1912:

"Mr. Voynich in 1912 exhibited this manuscript to French scholars in Paris, 
and in that year and in the following year to English scholars also; but no 
progress was made toward the interpretation." (p.xiv)

I wonder if Voynich might have advertised this exhibit in a French newspaper 
in 1912 which would help up to further narrow down the date of discovery?
