Of course. I was not thinking.

Hi,
I think that the enclitic -que is meant here, e.g. arma virumque cano

necessarily have to be in the language. I know of one language (Tamil) that
couples words by adding -um to the stem. If I remember correctly, Latin has
a suffix like that, too.

RE: word length counts - addendum
I would bet my bottom dollar bill
one of the 2 letter words means "and".
There is a question. There are
methods to determine likely vowels, is the! re a systematic method for
trying to narrow down possible words that mean common things such as "and",
"the", etc? While "the" does not appear in all languages, one would think
"and" would be extremely popular in most texts.
There are letter
frequency counts. Is there such a thing as a studt of word frequency
counts?

top 25 list of two and three letter words, just for laughs. Most of these
go on to form major elements of common longer words, so they're worth
noting.
