I believe the translation is familiar to me, but I've only seen it
on microfilm at the library. What it was translated from walking closer to
Bacon's source Ms I do not recall.

If it's the same microfilm from University Microfilms, I believe
the work imaged is from the Henry Huntington Library's large collection of
early English manuscripts and books. I believe this particular film is from
one of their collected volumes labeled 'De secretis operibus artis et
naturae.' The Huntington had some on-line presence two years ago, perhaps a
search in their catalog might do the trick.
