Well I am certainly coming to the same conclusion. What I would be VERY
interested in is anyone's view of order of construction. If anyone can
definitively say (hmmmm tall order) , for a number of pages, which were
written in what order. Then I would like to have a stab at running a series
of tests on the full range of these pages. I am currently using 19 pages.
Also I will try to formulate an alphabet, or should I say more a
tokenisation, to try to piece together functional groupings for common
pairs, triplets or quads. I have the feeling that some glyph groups serve as
functions rather than language substitutions. These then either a)
substitute as an abbreviation in conjunction with following glyphs (making
multiple abbreviations possible for the same pattern) or b) indicate the
method by which to retrieve set language patterns. These patterns could be
multi-faceted. By use of other groupings they could be made to show
different common letter groups. Such as the, a, it or this. It would all
depend upon the preceeding glyph patterns. Of course other groups COULD be
substituted, but substitution ing would be very wasteful as it would tend to
suggest high verb content, which I do not believe to be present in the VMS.
Best wishes to all
Jeff
