one thing i thought about is, that it might have something to do with
the personal education of the author. maybe author1(or 2) was not so
well educated as author2(or 1) and so he used some simpler style of
articulating the things he would like to say. 
like the lingo that a professor use is different from the lingo of a 
first grade student which use for example less technical terms or less 
bloated phrases.
