I can't give a link, but I can give some more information
about it.

The theory is that when the Earth and other planets were
just about through forming, a Mars-sized body slammed
into the Earth, knocking the Moon off of it.

Personally, I'm skeptical of this idea, but it does fit the
observed conditions of the Earth-Moon system.

Say, maybe that's what is being depicted in some of the
astro folios...
