VMs: Bacon, rainbows and f82v

Bacon's Opus Majus itself includes a neat set of circles:

Also, Roger Bacon made several comments about rainbows when he wrote about
experimental science - is that also what f82v (bottom) was about, as it has
been perceived in the past?
We know that there are at least a couple of very good reasons why Bacon
could not have been the author (Vellum/parchment preparation, florentine
hat, etc), and yet, there are also a similar number (at least) of reasons
why he may well have been it (after all, he wrote: "... certain persons
have achieved concealment by means of letters not then used by their own
race or others but arbitrarily invented by themselves; this is the greatest
obstacle of all, and Artephiushas employed it in his book On the Secrets of
Nature.".
Has this matter been sufficiently settled in our archive (not an easy one
to find)?
Thanks,
Luis
