I'm sure we have plenty of PhD's on this list,
but very, very few of them will actually be
related even remotely to the VMs work
that is being done. I very much doubt that
the purpose of the award will be to support
people in pursuing a 'hobby'. Still, it couldn't
do any harm to just try and find out and
will support you if you need.
FWIW, I have a PhD in Technical Sciences (Space
Engineering - see above :-) ).

Well... I think it's worth a try, because (as a group) we're definitely (a) a network, (b) international, (c) collaborative, and (d) largely academic. After all, we *are* in pursuit of pure knowledge, aren't we? :-)


The key proviso is that only UK-based PhD's can receive this funding, so we'd need a UK-based PhD to be the name on the application. Anyone interested?
