Of course, and one can go further and ask to "define random".
Lots of *seemingly* random patterns are not random at all.
Just look at algorithms for random number generators (RNGs). By definition 
they *cannot* be random!
And in this context humans do very badly at writing "random" sequences when 
asked to do so.
