Bearing in mind that the VMS was obviously done by hand a computer cannot
automatically produce the same output. However, with the tables and a
ruleset the voynich MS can be recreated BY HAND. It is a simple table with
links between the units of letter groupings. A computer will simply take
every available path and not just the ones that are sensible in voynichese.
Using these tables the VMS CAN be replicated exactly. Now whether this
throws new light on the subject and decides the hoax V cipher debate it is
another matter. It seems to me that nothing will settle this debate unless
someone produces a sensible plain text. However this can ALWAYS be disputed
by anyone who thinks that they have a better idea or method. I am simply
saying that I can reproduce it with little effort using a defined set of
tables and rules.
So where do we go from here.....? Is it down to the lake I fear.......
