It isn't so much negative feedback (though there is some of that here) but - like all science - a cry of "eureka" with no evidence is returned with scepticism.  

Personally, I hope you and Glen really do have the answer.  But until I see a translated page with the underlying key I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and my mind open to all possibilities.

least. I am the second person to have stumbled on the answer to the VMS. I
discovered tonight what he did before he left the list. And knowing how much
negative feedback there is here you can't blame him. I remember he said
something interesting in one of his last posts that I didn't pay much
attention to at the time. Now I have stumbled on the same thing he did.

Glen Claston!

Look back through your emails! He said he could only decrypt the initial
lines at first. Well you CAN only decrypt the initial lines if you don't
know the missing link. The table on the george boole fanclub is one half of
the link!
