I have always believed that we are missing a trick: if the VMS text 
could be transmitted in such a way that it appeared to be arriving from 
space, it would energize the resources of the entire SETI community to 
try to crack it.

Incidentally, I wonder if there is any application for the "SETI@home" 
approach (i.e. little applets running on thousands of idle PCs) 
vis-a-vis the VMS?
