VMs: Deciphering the VMS

For all interested parties, and I know there will be lots. :-( LOL

The triplet method as applied to the VMS EVA is now returning a large amount
of Italian word forms. I believe these to be in a venice dialect or
derivative. As I am still waiting for any of my friends to put me in touch
with their unknown Italian aquantances I have run into a brick wall.

My wish list includes an assortment of medieval or early modern Italian
dictionaries for word checking. I know this is probably an impossible task
but if anyone knows where I can get these I will be eternally greatful.
Alternatively as many MSs in text form as possible from 1400 - 1599. At the
moment the ones I have nearest the time frame seem to be stage plays. This
means the content is worse than useless for my purposes.

I am currently analysing 1550 Italian words against the VMS patterns. This
has lead me into some new directions and seems to help in some instances.

The phrase I had, which was "la calle dico de carallio" has now changed to
"la calle _ _ c _ de carallio." Would anyone care to hazard a guess as to
the four letter word. And please, no rude ones!

Jeff
