So according to this, 'monkey' in Japanese should be "sar"? I don't think so.
"Daru" as "dull" is not Japanese, it is the so-called 'katakana-go' (anything
non-Japanese written in katakana, loosing all original pronunciation). Like
makudonarudo baagaa :-)
