Re: VMs: Agnus Dei



I think calling that a sheep is a bit of a stretch.  It looks more like an armadillo to me (not that I am proposing it is, it just looks like one, is all)

Looking at the second part of the drawing on the left hand side of f80v (in 
front of text lines 12-14), I noticed what appears to be another sheep 
illustration in the VMS (ref. the group of animals at the bottom of f79v for 
the other sheep).

I can detect in f80v, starting from the left side of the referenced drawing, 
a tail, fleece, legs, paws, and what appears to be a narrow head profile, 
facing down, replete with lips, possible eye, and ear or horn.

Could this be a reference to the Golden Fleece, Sacrificial (paschal) Lamb, 
or Lamb of God (Agnus Dei)?
