Ooops, sorry - I initially misread "litote" as a suggested synonym for "not 
unaware" here, rather than as your meta-commentary. :-)

Understatement is perfectly acceptable (to me, at least) - but note that 
English is not the primary language for (I'd guess) 50-60% of the 
listmembers, so be careful. :-)
