Glagolitic and Cyrillic [was: Re: VMs: Blanks]

Regards glagolitic:
http://www.omniglot.com/writing/glagolitic.htm

shows 41 or 42 if you count the two forms of jery as different letters.

IIRC Russian used its own version of the Cyrillic alphabet, Glagolitic being used for Old Church Slavonic. Russian Cyrillic has had as many as 43 letters, reduced to 34 letters after the reforms of Peter the Great at the beginning of the 18th century and 33 letters since the 1918 spelling reform.

I think you could count between 32 and 37 characters in Glagolitic.

That would be a loss to the list.

Don't worry! As somebody else already said, once the Vms. grabs you, it is
difficult to escape...

Did Russia have a 32 character alphabet in the 15th century?

Well, I do not have my references at hand, but Glagolitic (spelling?) definitely had more characters than Latin; I don't remember how many exactly, but perhaps not much less than 35...

Cheers,
