as I have many times told, over time I begin more and more seriously to believe,
it is a mix with less or more of Finno-Ugric influences.

Today I revisited the "old" Komi alphabet (surely exixted in XV century).
Surprise, surprise - many characters look similar to us...

There are 2 main theories about the origin of old Komi alphabet. Most papers
probably tell, what they have read in old text of Russian Church (that it was
made by a Russian missionary). Well, a bit of skepticism is on right place here,
it could be imported some south (where?) or be made by somebody else.

MV

PS
Going to search some native Komi speakers (and maybe some other eastern
Finno-Ugric people could be on place). You see, I can't read Komi or other
eastern Finno-Ugric stuff.

PPS
If this is mostly Finno-Ugric, the strange sings on first page are
probably (migrating) birds; the second one just holding something to build a
nest.

PPPS
More after or in the weekend probably
