Re: VMs: statistics of the german language 14th/15th century

Thanks Nick :-)

THE date(S) are lined(ing).up now - especially if 'Arabic'
PREceded (high/or low modern) 'German'...

IKNO (:I Know Not Of:) Pre-degree Zodiac(?) (before-1293)..this month
we
have 5 "planets" in view (on this hemisphere) (this date)...
WERE older _astrologers/star gazers_
[no 'astronomy' then? (pre 1293) - right?], beyond _us_ then THEN?

Best to you & yours :-)

~still, the vms is 'older than we think!'~

p.s. (AND THIS IS INTENDED for NO ONE on the list, but MANY people
read something by someone else and assume, well, s/he tried THAT and
failed in its pursuit.... so we might never look backw (I question
only how far one [s/he] followed the
path,) before this path is (dubbed) failure?! it's almost a catch-22
check & double check is always good!

Carpenters Rule?: measure twice, cut once! :-)

.pss. as a copy of a copy etc... surely the stand alone characters
structure would have been 'preserved' if not understood by
(copying) SCRIBE(s)?, hence, IT'S either an ORIGNAL or a very close
copy of it! (color(s) not withstanding).

All we're talking about is when it was *written down*, not when it was
 *originated*. That's another story entirely...

For example: as Rene has pointed out, the per-degree zodiac diagrams seem
consistent with the kind of per-degree astrology Pietro d'Abano learnt in
Constantinople (probably before 1293). However, that system (in turn) seems
to have come through the much earlier Arabic astrologer Abu Ma'shar... and
so we probably won't know more about that particular chain (tradition)
until we can read Voynichese. :-)

 Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....
