VMs: Dante's Universe

I find Dante's Universe rather entriguing and wonder how it might relate to 
the VMS 'Galaxy' folio (f68r1).

I also like the spiraling depiction of the heavens in Dante's Universe.

I wonder if the "bird's eye view" of f68r1 could be from the Empyrean 
looking down through the heavens towards the Earth and not from the Earth's 
perspective looking up at the heavens?
