Don't forget that people often used multiple "hands" - IIRC, John Dee's italic hand was unbelievably neat, while his secretarial hand was unbelievably sloppy. In the case of Horczicky, I suspect that we don't yet have enough examples of his handwriting to be able to attribute this satisfactorily... but perhaps there are more out there waiting to be found! :-)
