Hello Jan,
the MS is a codex, in that it has been bound 
as a book. The cover is also in vellum (flexible),
but it is not clear if that is the original cover.
For lack of any other information, we can assume
so.
The binding dates from the 17th or 18th C,
according to the Beinecke. Kraus has also written
something in the back cover, indicating that
he has perhaps rebound some quire(s).
