Re: VMs: dB request: was: transcriptions and shorthand notes

Hey Matt,

I'm glad someone is willing. What I'm suggesting is to call up the .jpg
image in a paint program, select the line in the folio with a selection
tool, and save that line as a new image with the line name matching the
interlinear identification. The image database would consist of thousands
of line images, with some major rework of the circular lines in some of the
astronomical and astrological drawings. If you've looked at my pdf
transcription files, where I juxtapose the VMS line with the transcription,
you'll get the idea.

The point of this is that one may access the lines through databases in EVA,
VGBT, Courier, etc. and immediately compare glyphs or words visually in
their natural surroundings. What I've been trying to get across is that the
VMS script is a combination of base symbols, "marked up" with shorthand
markings. You're really not going to see that until you compare symbol for
symbol, and this is the easiest way I can come up with the make this happen.
