I tend to believe this too but have no compelling
evidence (as written in my previous E-mail).

Now I see what you mean. That would certainly
explain one of the 'mislaid' quire markings!

If it is true, it means that all quires are
really messed up (which could have happened if
the author just left a pile of loose pages and
someone else made a codex out of it later).
It leaves the mystery of quire 8: were there really
three more bifolios, once?
And why are the remaining ones about different
topics?

Nice idea. Took me a while to understand how the
lower images relate to the top one (especially
since the one for f8v+f9r seems inconsistent).
