VMs: label transcriptions
I am months behind in reading this list... Some random comments:
> [Don Latham:] Where has Jorge been lately?
Busy with boring work (it is end of semester, again, rats!), and also
slowly recovering from an almost fatal case of Wikipedia addiction.
I just saw Gordon Rugg's article in Scientific American. Although it
is nice to see the VMs get more exposure (and even nicer to see my
name mentioned there!), I still stand by the comments that I posted
here a few months ago.

AFAIK, the first near-complete transcription of the labels was
provided by John Grove. (IIRC, only the nine-rosette labels were left
out, presumably for the lack of a readable copy.) Later, Takeshi
Takahashi's full transcription included all labels, too. Several other
people contributed partial readings.
All the best,
