Yup, that's the one! What is it? I thought that it was some funny "r" so 3 of 
the labels read "rot" (red in German?): f4r, 7r and 9v

Yes, I will, but I still have to upload the images.
I used 2 algorithms: colour deconvolution and image ratio.

The green paint is the easiest to remove with the first algorithm while for 
the reddish brown (f7r)  and the blue (f9v) I used colour deconvolution to 
get the main paint and the ratio of the original and the paint to get the 
writing.

I plan to write a tutorial for the ImageJ plugin I wrote using Ruifrok & 
Johnston's colour deconvolution algorithm and will use the vms as an example.
