I don't know why the seaons in particular. I admit it's an othogonal kind
of division, compared with time of year. Maybe to distinguish the
influence of sun vs. moon in categorizing properties? I can imagine that
the influence of an herb might be felt to be different in the day and at
night, if its properties were influenced by the heavens. Presumably we
could be cross categorizing properties based on time collected, and
properties based on either time collected or time administered, if we were
actually dealing with properties of herbs.

As far as an internal parallel, aren't some of the recognized signs of the
Zodiac in the VMs divided into a light and a dark version?

I'm afraid I'm not used to thinking of things in astrological terms, so
there may be some incongruities coming up on my part as I try!

If not 2 six week periods, or night vs. day, nothing occurs to me.
