I'd be surprised. Mind you, the Templars' order was destroyed in 1307, which
seems to predate the VM by at least 150 years. Any theory linking the two would
have to explain the gap.

Perhaps more importantly, what might connect the Templars with the kind of content we apparently see in the VMs? Not botany, not cosmology, not astrology, not balneology, not pharmacology - and not even cryptography (I asked Dominic Selwood if he had seen any evidence of cryptography in the many Templar archives he'd examined, and he said that he hadn't).
