RE: VMs: superblock update
But... what's the smallest block of English text that
reproduces an English manuscript of about the same
size as the VMS? And, since we don't know the content
of the VMS, for a variety of contents (children's
book, technical article, newspaper report, court case
transcript)? Oh, and since we don't know the language
of the VMS, try the same set of content for Latin,
French, Italian, Russian, Vietnamese, Swahili...
Don't mean to be negative - I just want to stress the
point that often seemingly signficant and unique
behaviors are, in fact, not. I am continually
flabbergasted at how "odd" routine conversation in
unencrypted, fairly meaningful :) English is on
inspection.
It is productive to know what is actually significant
and unique before trying to find it in the VMS (or at
least before expending too much work in that
direction).
